Autumn_Winter 2010 - Key Pieces

The models long ago strutted their stuff down the catwalks wearing them, but the key pieces for autumn winter are just finally hitting stores and now it is our chance.

Remember try to invest in only a couple of statement pieces that will last for a long time and will be timeless no matter the fashion forecast. Look out for fabrics and styles that will get even better with age. And before dashing to the shops try re-working your current wardrobe, to give it a fresh new look by mixing things up. No embellishing this season, things are plain and simple. Think ladylike styling, with proper grown-up sophistication; it is the small details that count.

With out further-ado here are the things to look out for:

1. The camel coat

[Chloe]

2. The aviator jacket

[Burberry Prorsum]

3. The cape

[Carolina Herrera]

4. The chunky knit

[Isabel Marant]

5. The longer skirt

[The Row]

6. The fantasy fur

[Chanel]

7. The biker trousers

[Isabel Marant]

8. The tapered trousers

[Stella McCartney]

9. The evening trousers

[Akris]

10. The stockings

[Alexander Wang]

Don't cover up your legs, tights are out stockings are in. We will all be embracing the harsh winter breeze, apparently Mr Alexander Wang is to blame. Over the knee socks still look great with high-heel hikers, this seasons "it" shoe. Even team up a pair of severely ladered black tights with a pair of long socks, for that grunge look, which is still in this winter. Like always don't forget a bit of romantic lace to complete the look.

When shopping consider what will go well with your current wardrobe. Do not just buy for the sake of it being "in fashion" especially if it does not flatter your shape or style.
